We are conveniently located in the heart of the Cambridge Biomedical Campus’ vibrant scientific community, making it easy to connect with us. Below, you’ll find detailed directions for sample deliveries, consultations, and equipment shipments.

Directions

The Stratified Medicine Core Laboratory (SMCL NGS HuB) is located in the Department of Medical Genetics of the University of Cambridge, Cambridge Biomedical Campus, 6th floor of Addenbrooke’s Treatment Centre (ATC). The easiest way to access the ATC is through the main entrance of the ATC and the IMS (Institute of Metabolic Science), located on Keith Day Road and Robinson Road. Please refer to the map below. We strongly recommend not accessing the ATC through the hospital’s internal corridors to minimise circulation in the hospital; it’s also easier to access the ATC/IMS from outside. On entering the main foyer of the ATC/IMS, take one of the three lifts on your right to level 6. Upon exiting the lift on level 6, go towards the left, and the door to the Department of Medical Genetics of the University of Cambridge will be straight in front of you. Press the bottom buzzer marked ‘University of Cambridge - Academic Medical Genetics’ to inform us that you have arrived. Once you get access, please walk straight down the long corridor, and the entrance to the main office is through the third door on your left. We will likely meet you at the corridor once you announce your arrival.

Parking

Parking is charged in the Cambridge Biomedical Campus; the nearest car park is Parking No2 (bottom left corner on the map).

Loading/unloading heavy equipment

If you need to bring heavy equipment, you are welcome to use the ATC loading bay on Robinson Way for a short time to unload. In that case, please get in touch with us in advance (no visitors are allowed in the basement).
